Thomas A. Reed, 72, of Pottstown, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James E. and Anna K. (Pierson) Reed.
A 1972 graduate from Owen J. Roberts High School. He retired from Dana Incorporated in 2008 after 32 years where he spent most of those years as a fork lift operator.
Tom was a loving and ever-present father and grandfather, affectionately called Poppy. He was always in attendance at his granddaughter’s events and activities. He never failed to provide for his daughter, even thoughtful things through her adult life which was something that brought him lots of joy.
He loved dressing up for holidays with funny hats, glasses and themed shirts.
His highlight of his week was getting together with friends and playing cards.
He is survived by his daughter Melissa McKechnie, wife of John; grandchildren Morgan and Emily McKechnie; brother James E. Reed; and sister Anna Mourar.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Patricia Reed.
The family will hold a private service to honor Tom’s memory.
