Robert "Bob" Mauger, 87, of Boyertown, PA, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of the late Jean D. Mauger, with whom he shared over 50 beautiful years of marriage.
Born in Pottstown, PA, on September 30, 1939, Bob was the son of the late Marion I. Mauger and stepfather Norman S. Geist. He was also raised with the guidance of his grandparents, Clayton B. and Lauretta M. Mauger. Bob was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church in 1941 and graduated from Boyertown High School in 1957, where he played both baseball and basketball.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps achieving the rank of E-3 Lance Corporal before receiving an honorable discharge on 1965. Following his military service, he built a distinguished career from Lineman to Superintendent with the IBEW Local 126 Union from 1970-2002, earning the deep respect of his colleagues for his work ethic and leadership.
Bob was an avid golfer and card player, especially enjoying poker. He enjoyed tending to his garden while once owning a farm. He enjoyed travel, music, and spent many years with family in his summer home in Wildwood, NJ.
Above all his achievements, Bob’s greatest joy was his family. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather whose life centered on watching, supporting, and meticulously video recording every family event and gathering.
A memorial service will be held Sunday November 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00-1:45 PM at the funeral home.
