Gertrude “Trudy” A. (Miller) Benfield, 90, wife of the late William F. Benfield Sr., passed away peacefully at her home in Bechtelsville on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
Born in Bally, she was the daughter of Paul and Dorothy (Bauer) Miller.
Trudy was an avid reader and was never without her Kindle. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed the family cruises. She also would never say no to a trip to the casinos.
But first and foremost, she was a wonderful mother to her children Julie A. Benfield, Joan M. Batch, wife of Robert, David Benfield, husband of Sandra, William F. Benfield Jr., and John Benfield. She was a very proud “Nana” with 4 grandsons Matthew, Sean, Alex, and Andrew. Trudy adored her great granddaughters Natalie and Cecelia. She is also survived by sisters Phyllis Moyer, and Leann Hartman. She was predeceased by her brother John Miller.
A memorial mass will be held on Monday, November 16, 2026 at 11:00AM at Most Blessed Sacrament Church (610 Pine St, Bally, PA 19503) with Fr. James officiating. Burial will follow at Most Blessed Sacrament Cemetery. Visitation will also be held on Monday, November 16, 2026 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the church.
